To offer horses free access to feeding is beneficial both for the animal health and for the owner’s pocket!

All feeding recommendations are made for the “average” horse. But horses are different and a uniform diet can have a bad effect on the individual. There are many scientific reports, which prove that a system of free choice meets the individual requirements of the animals better than mixed-ration diet.

We restrict our horses to stalls, paddocks or pastures with limited forage options, where in nature they would roam many square miles in search of natural clays, mineral deposits and herbs/plants. In stead they chew bark, eat dirt, drink from corral urine pools, when they lack some special compounds. This activity stops when given specific supplements.
